Original drawing skull and lilies in frame
This is an original ink and watercolor drawing on Arches cold press watercolor paper. The drawing is 2.5x3.5 inches and the frame is approximately 4x5 inches. The image is covered by clear acrylic (not glass) and the frame has a sawtooth hanger so it can be hung on a wall. The frame is wide enough so it could also be propped up on a shelf.
About the work:
I am a dark artist living in central Wisconsin, US. The goal of my work is to contribute to the death positive movement by evoking discussion about the inevitability of death and to emphasize the beauty in darkness. My work can be seen as a modern memento mori, a reminder that one day we will die. It also serves as a reminder that death is a part of, and contributes to, life. In this particular piece, life and death are represented by skulls, plants, and flowers.
